RFE: Several Americans Killed, Wounded In Kabul Hotel Attack
The State Department says several U.S. citizens were killed and wounded in a recent attack on Kabul’s Intercontinental Hotel by Taliban militants that left at least 30 people dead.
The State Department gave no details in a January 23 statement on how many U.S. citizens were killed in the attack. Afghan officials have said 11 of the 14 foreigners killed were employees of KamAir, a private Afghan airline.
"We offer our deepest condolences to the families and friends of those who were killed and wish for the speedy recovery of those wounded," the State Department said.
